Service Manager


 The Role

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager as QMS. You will have responsibility for managing the service team on a day to day basis. Duties will encompass scheduling work, allocating resources and coordinating vehicles and equipment (A detailed job description is available upon request). You will work closely with our sales staff to ensure that customer expectations are met within the available resources and legislative framework.

This is a hands on role which will see you divide your time between the shop floor and the office. It is envisaged that the majority of your time will be spent organising and assisting members of your team. They will be a requirement to travel to site to provide guidance and support as required.


The candidate

You could be a service engineer / welder / machinist who is looking for the next step in their career and will be able to demonstrate that they have the aptitude to move in to management and provide leadership.

Alternatively they could already be a manager / team leader within an engineering company with proven management experience looking to move disciplines. Successful applicants must be able to quickly develop an understanding of crushing plant.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with your team, different departments and site personnel.  You must be IT savvy and confident in your level of literacy as this role will require some administration work (risk assessments, reports).

Service Engineer – Crushers


QMS are looking for experienced Service Engineers / Crusher Fitters to join our Bardon Hill based team. Working within the service department you will be involved in the maintenance of crushing plant in quarries. When you are not working on site you will be carrying out work at QMS on crushers and crusher components that have been brought to QMS for repair.


This role involves travel / site work around the UK and regular overtime at weekends / evenings / bank holidays.


Previous experience of cone and / or jaw and / or large gyratory crushers is desirable.


Apprenticeship / Trainee Service Engineer – Crushers


This is an excellent opportunity to learn on the job and develop your skills. Ideally you will have relevant experience in welding or mechanical fitting and will be looking to build on these practical skills. We will provide a comprehensive training programme and consider applicants interested in pursuing an advanced apprenticeship.


This role involves travel / site work around the UK and regular overtime at weekends / evenings / bank holidays.
